Happy Birthday Mom - I miss you so much every day. . .I keep wondering how long it will be before my heart stops hurting everytime I think of you - I know, if you were here, you would want me to be happy - so I try my best everyday - I love and miss you so much.

I have been thinking the last couple days about a trip to Big Lots and Dairy Queen mom and I took shortly before she got very sick.  It was such a fun day.  We drove the half hour to the store, chatting away the whole time.  Although I can't remember what we talked about, it was just a normal fun day with mom. At Big Lots, we looked around, then hit the health and beauty aisle and spent about 30 minutes smelling bath gel and sprays - by the time we left  - LOL - we were both covered in so many smells, people probably thought we were crazy.  Then we stopped at Dairy Queen and mom got a vanilla milkshake, and I got a Blizzard. Mom didn't often stay away from home for very long at that time because of her oxygen, but we had taken enough and changed them -  and when we got home, Dad actually was wondering where we were for so long - just a special normal day, but such a great memory of fun with my mom.

One of my favorite memories of my mom is the morning I went to the hospital to have my son.  I called her at 6am, because I knew she would be leaving for work soon.  When I told her my back had been hurting all night - she jumped off the phone with me - and called the doctor.

Mom always seemed to know what I needed more than I did -So in the middle of an ice storm - we headed an hour away to have my baby. She was in the delivery room with me all that morning - until later in the afternoon when I finally had Adrian.  He was little and born 5 weeks early - and I was about the most nervous new mom ever.  Luckily, my mom had had all preemies herself, and was always able to help me through everything.

Everytime I look at my children, I see a little bit of my mom there.
